TPE 6D - Special Education
o Articulates rationale for inclusive education for all students
o Understands and applies principles of universal design to differentiate instruction
o Develops modifications and adaptations in curriculum assessment and instruction for students with special needs
o Understands of roles and responsibilities as members of SST & IEP Teams
o Collaborates with others to plan, teach and assess students with special characteristics
TPE 6E – Middle Level Education
o Understands the major concepts, principles, theories, and research underlying the philosophical foundations of developmentally responsive middle schools
o Believes in the developmentally responsive and socially equitable programs for all young adolescents
o Works successfully within organizational structures to maximize student learning

 Lesson plans with clearly identified differentiation strategies
 Unit plans
 Rationale from lesson plans indicating how the activity is developmentally
appropriate.
 SST meeting notes or action plan (with names removed)
 Cluster map of focus student
 Disability strategy matrix
 IEP meeting notes or narrative reflection (with names removed)
 RTI strategies & tips
 Beginning of the Year assignment
